Stores in the nation’s five best-known entertainment streets will offer big price cuts for nearly two weeks from Sept. 29 as part of the Korea Sale FESTA initiated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to boost domestic spending.

About 6,000 stores in the five streets will join the event, during which they will sell products at discounts up to 50 percent.

The five streets are Itaewon Fashion Street and Garosu-gil in Seoul, Euneungjeongi Culture Street in Daejeon, Chungjang-ro in Gwangju and the Stream Street in Pohang.

The event will also feature roadside performances including magic shows and jazz concerts, according to the ministry.
