A Busan city-affiliated organization has recruited international students for its biannual internship program, providing an opportunity for them to get a taste of life in Korean workplaces.

According to the Busan Foundation for International Cooperation (BFIC), 48 students from seven countries, including China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Russia and Japan, were selected for the “International Student Internship” this summer. BFIC spread them across 26 companies in Busan for four to eight weeks until Aug 26.

During the internship, students will learn professional skills related to international business, marketing and translation.

“We want to help foreign students understand Korean office culture and eventually find a job in Korea through this internship,” said Alok K. Roy, the BFIC Secretary General.

Since 2012, BFIC has held the program twice a year -- January to February and July to August. Students can apply for the internship via BFIC’s website.
