A 3.0-magnitude earthquake rattled the rural town of Sangju in North Gyeongsang Province Friday morning, the state weather agency said. There were no reports of casualties or property damage.

It was the third quake this year to strike the town, 160 kilometers southeast of Seoul, following a 2.6-magnitude quake in March and a 2.2-magnitude one in April.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said the earthquake happened at 4:53 a.m. and the epicenter was 22 kilometers west of the town.

“There has been no damage report yet,” a KMA official said.

A 3.0-magnitude earthquake is the weakest people can feel, according to the KMA.
