Calvin Klein tops parallel imports

Listen

Calvin Klein products lead imports to the end of October this year, data shows.

“Parallel imports” refers to imports of non-counterfeit foreign brands by importers other than the exclusive selling agent.

According to the Korea Customs Service, among the 1,178,525 products imported this way from January through October, Calvin Klein accounted for 9.3 percent.

Following were Ferragamo, New Balance, Adidas and Tommy Hilfiger.

Apparel constituted the largest percentage of the imports, followed by shoes, bags, wallets and belts.

The parallel import system was introduced in August 2012. Since then, the brand with the most imported products until October this year is New Balance, followed by Crocs, Ferragamo, Calvin Klein and Nike.
