Ex-soccer player Park Ji-sung becomes father

Former South Korean national soccer player Park Ji-sung is a father,

Park, 34, said Thursday his wife had given birth to a daughter.

Kim Min-ji, a former broadcaster, had the baby in England. Park thanked everyone associated with birth and said he and his wife will work to be parents who give happiness to their child.

Park married Kim in July last year. He retired in May 2014 after playing for Manchester United and Queens Park Rangers.
