Online resellers are trying to make a fortune from the H&M Balmain fashion collaboration collection that launched Thursday.

On Joongonara, the country’s largest trading site with 14 million members, there were more than 10 pages of posts selling H&M Balmain items for Sunday alone, as of 1:30 p.m.

Sellers posted prices that were sometimes up to four times the original.

A men’s coat, for example, which costs 249,000 won, is for sale at 990,000 won. A seller with the ID almm****, who posted 10 items, sold two of them, one of which was close to double the original price.

Another seller, gusw****, posted the price of suede sneakers, originally 159,000 won, at 650,000 won.

Others (dheh****) posted that they are selling at the lowest prices, adding around 50,000 won to the original price, to move the items quickly.

Most transactions seemed to be private but on one particular post, another member (Yoga practitioner) said: “How could you sell a 160,000 won pair of shoes for 650,000 won – are you in your right mind? You are like a thief carrying a pair of shoes.”

Meanwhile, before the launch, people camped for days in front of H&M stores selling the collaboration items. Most of them reportedly were resellers.
