Popular MC Kim Je-dong has held a one-man protest against the government’s decision Tuesday to author a history textbook for middle and high school students.
A photo posted on social media showed the star, 41, holding a sketch book with a message on it that read: “History is hearts of people who have come through different epochs and eras in the past. Will you too state-author their hearts? It will never be easy.”
The photo was posted Tuesday on the Facebook page of journalist Joo Ji-nu, who two hours later posted a photo of himself holding a sketch book with a message against the government’s latest move. It read: “I hate state censorship. I hate textbooks that are pro-Japan and controlled by the government. I hate following the same path of North Korea.”
Kim is MC of TV talk show “Healing Camp” on SBS. Joo, who became famous through the anti-government podcast talk show “I am a Trickster” (2011-12), works for news magazine Sisa In. The liberal-minded stars have been active in raising their voices against the Park Geun-hye administration.
