From aroma products to red ginseng, KSAT gets people shopping

With KSAT approaching, people are starting to stock up on gifts for test-takers.

Rice cakes, chocolate and sweets are the most popular (54 percent), followed by health food products such as red ginseng and underclothes (34 percent).

The findings are from a survey by underwear company BYC of 193 customers who visited its stores this month.

Young people tended to give rice cakes and aroma products and the older generation red ginseng and underclothes.

Most people (75 percent) regarded 10,000 won to 50,000 won as an appropriate price range, while 21 percent opted for 50,000 to 100,000 won.

The test for third-year high school students to get into university is regarded as one of the most important lifetime events in Korea, where the university from which one graduates largely determines the kind of job he or she may obtain.

The test will take place on Nov. 12.
