Nickhun, Tiffany break up

Idol singers Nickhun from 2PM and Tiffany from Girls’ Generation have split up.

Nickhun, 28, a Thai member of the six-member boy band from JYP Entertainment, and Tiffany, 27, from the nine-member girl band from SM Entertainment, had been a couple for about 17 months. They announced their relationship in April of last year and ended it about a month ago.

Their romance failed because their work schedules in Korea and overseas meant they hardly had time to see each other, media outlets said Friday.

Some outlets said they had “chosen careers over love.”

One outlet said the pair met when they were living in the U.S. They became closer as friends when they moved to Korea and trained to become singers.

Nickhun is working on his band’s new studio album, which is scheduled for release in June. Tiffany’s band plans to make return to the stage in Korea in late June.
