The Korean Committee for UNICEF is hosting a campaign to send words of comfort to children and families in Nepal who are suffering in the aftermath of last month’s deadly earthquake.
The campaign is designed to raise awareness of the tragedy through bracelets.
Figures such as United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake, Goodwill Ambassador of the Korean Committee for UNICEF Ahn Sung-ki and celebrities such as EXO are participating.
Those who want to participate can visit Kyobo Bookstore in Gwanghwamun and Gangnam or 30 Coffee Bean stores in the city from Wednesday through Sunday. After visiting the stores, they can download the UNICEF sponsor app and leave a message for Nepalese children. Participants will get a bracelet.
"We hope that the messages of hope and courage are conveyed to Nepalese children through the campaign,” said executive director of the Korean Committee for UNICEF Suh Dae-won.
The committee has been campaigning for emergency relief for Nepalese children and has sent $2.5 million so far. For more information, visit
