'Cheftainer' cooks up a storm in new TV show

“Cheftainer” (chef and entertainer) Baek Jong-won’s first TV cooking show “House Cook Master Baek” airs Tuesday on television network tvN.

In the unscripted show, Baek teaches four male celebrities, including popular MC Kim Gu-ra and singer Yoon Sang, how to prepare Korean food.

Baek, 48, who is CEO of several national restaurant franchises, says he wants to show people that Korean food is not difficult to cook.

Program director Ko Min-goo, who cast Baek, praised the chef for how he came across in MBC’s weekly show “My Little Television” earlier in May.

“I enjoyed working on that show so much I forgot there were cameras,” said Baek, who introduced recipes that viewers could instantly follow.
