The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will make its debut in Seoul in November, the world’s top mixed martial arts (MMA) organization said at the weekend.

“UFC heads to South Korea for the very first time on November 28,” the UFC tweeted.

Starting in 1993 as a professional MMA organization, the UFC has gained popularity around the world.

“The UFC in Asia is growing at an impressive pace, and this event in Seoul will mark our second new market this year,” said UFC Asia Executive Vice President and General Manager Ken Berger.

“Korea has some of Asia’s best MMA athletes, and this event is fully expected to illustrate just how powerful and technical these fighters have become. As usual we will bring a truly international fight card to the region, giving our loyal fans and those new to the sport a thrilling night to remember.”

UFC Korean fighters include Kim Dong-hyun, 33, Lim Hyun-gyu, 30, Bang Tae-hyun, 31, and Nam Yui-chul, 33.

Further details have yet to be disclosed.
