Police detained a man in his 70s Tuesday for allegedly threatening to blow up local cable news channel YTN.
According to police, the man, surnamed Song, complained about YTN’s broadcasting of the images of U.S. Ambassador Mark Lippert’s facial wound he sustained in an attack last Thursday.
Song told police that he threatened to blow up the firm because it kept airing those images despite his repeated requests not to do so.
Korean news media, including YTN, carried images and video footages of the ambassador splashed with blood on his shirts.
