Korea Times names new president

The Korea Times promoted Vice President Lee Chang-sup to president and publisher, Wednesday.

Lee, 55, joined the nation’s first English daily in 1984. He previously worked as Cheong Wa Dae correspondent, deputy politics editor and business editor.

He served as managing editor for five years until he was appointed chief editorial writer in 2010. Then, he was promoted to executive managing director in 2012 and vice president and editor-in-chief in 2014.

The outgoing President Park Moo-jong was named advisor. He has served in the top position since 2004.
