Foreign envoys and business leaders have offered their prayers and condolences for those who died or are listed as missing in the capsizing of the ferry Sewol, and their families. ― ED.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the ferry accident that took the lives of so many people on board. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends in these difficult times of grief. We sincerely hope that more lives can be saved today. The President of Hungary Janos Ader also expressed his deepest condolences to President Park Geun-hye today.

Our hearts go out to all those affected by the tragic sinking of the ferry Sewol.

I am deeply saddened by the ferry disaster that happened off Jindo on Wednesday morning. While offering my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the entire Korean nation, I am praying for the missing persons, many of them young students for their rescue.

I am profoundly moved and shocked by the devastating tragedy of the ferry Sewol that has overtaken the government and people of the Republic of Korea with sadness and sorrow. On behalf of the government and people of the State of Kuwait and of the members of the embassy, I wish to express the deepest and most sincere sympathy and condolences to the government and to those who have been affected by this unexpected catastrophe, especially to all students and teachers at Danwon High School. In these difficult moments, I sincerely hope that all the victims and bereaved families find strength and endurance to cope with this terrible disaster. Our thoughts and prayers will always be with those affected by the unimaginable tragedy of the Sewol.

I feel deeply sad for this terrible tragedy and I extend my most sincere condolences to the families whose members were hit by the accident while sharing our sorrow with the people and the government of Korea in these particular circumstances.

The government of the Republic of Guatemala expresses, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and their embassy in Seoul, its solidarity with the people and government of the Republic of Korea, following the tragic maritime accident near Jindo on April 15th, which has left the unfortunate balance of dead and injured passengers.

Currently in Saudi Arabia to participate in an international higher education exhibit along with fifty Korean colleagues belonging to fifteen Korean universities, we all woke up yesterday with the heartbreaking news about the accident in Korea.

Indeed Saudi officials as well as common people visiting the Korean universities booths are continuously sharing condolence with our Korean friends about the tragic and horrific news. Here, we all keep sending our prayers that victims are saved and we also send our condolence to families and relatives of the victims. We are also asking The Lord to be merciful and compassionate upon the souls and hearts of everybody suffered from the accident.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the sinking of the passenger ferry Sewol. My heart aches to learn that there are many young students on-board. Accounts of the bravery of those who helped others escape the sinking ferry and the utmost effort of those fishermen and rescue workers involved in the rescue efforts illustrates the selflessness of the Korean people. My thoughts and prayers are with them in their rescue efforts.
