Two boys, 9 and 12, took turns driving a car, and crashed into three cars, fortunately leaving no one hurt, Uijeongbu police said Tuesday.
The nine-year-old took his uncle’s car key and started driving the Avante around his apartment block with his friend in the passenger seat.
They drove about 1km, and crashed into three parked vehicles, a Tucson, a Trajet XG and a Morning.
Then they parked the car, and played in a playground nearby.
Passersby who saw them driving called the police, and they took the boys to the police station for questioning.
Both of them won’t face legal punishment since they are too young to be subject to punishment by facing criminal charges.
The law dictates that offences committed by children under the age of 14 not face criminal charges as they are deemed incapable of dealing with the legal consequences of their crimes.
