While possibility of murder grew when a missing woman’s clothes were discovered, it has been found on the morning of July 30 that she had pressured the suspect, a former police officer, to meet her.
North Jeolla Province Police Agency Wednesday said Lee sent text messages and phone calls several months before the disappearance of Jung of the department.
After the police confiscated Jung’s cell phones, Lee started to blackmail the officer, saying, “Do you want other people to know about our relationship? Meet me,” and “Don’t break the promise,” sending 22 similar ones continuously.
Also, she called through the cell phone to ask him to meet her repeatedly over the past four months.
When Jung continued to ignore Lee’s messages as spam, she called the substation, making it impossible for Jung to avoid her and met on July 17 and July 24.
The police said “On July 17, I heard Jung say, ‘Lee told me that she’s pregnant. What should I do?’”
Jung took out 5 million won from the bank on July 22, and the two were supposed to meet on July 24. Later, Lee went missing and her whereabouts became unknown after a week.
Inspector Jung also faced a police investigation on July 25 and then disappeared on July 26.
