“Similar hacker group continues its act of sabotage through the cyberspace”'

On the 8th, the AP Correspondence said “The conspirators responsible the Hacking crisis which continued in the past few years in South Korea and the United States are within a same group.

US Security Company McAfee said “The type of virus codes which were used in the cyber-terrorist attacks to the Blue House and government websites on June 25th was similar to those of March 20th when the computer systems were completely paralyzed. McAfee said “These virulent codes are designed not only to simply destroy the hardware, but also to extricate information from the Military intelligence.

It was discovered that the hackers continued to infiltrate Korea by disseminating virus codes in the internet throughout the course of several years.

McAfee’s senior researcher Ryan Sherstobitov said the virus codes were engineered to infiltrate the Korean computer system and search major words as ‘US Army’, ‘top secret’, ‘Joint Chiefs of Staff’ and ‘Key Resolve drill’.

Other than these, personal information such as the names of persons, military base, and the weapons system were prescribed into the system. Certain virus codes were camouflaged as the nation’s biggest computer security system Ahnlab’s vaccine programs before they were disseminated.

Sherstobitov emphasized “These are not simple hacking attacks but an act of military espionage. Although McAfee did not specify the attacked government agencies, experts point blame this act of sabotage to North Korea.

McAfee plans to present research report which includes these kind of information later this week.
