Popular boy band CNBLUE filed an injunction Monday with a Seoul court, demanding it stop punk rock band Crying Nut from spreading false rumors about its members.
FNC Entertainment, the managing agency of the idol group masquerading as a rock band, and CNBLUE members filed the injunction banning Crying Nut’s dissemination of falsehood at the Seoul Central District Court on June 27.
The injunction is a countersuit against a suit filed by Crying Nut who claimed that CNBLUE infringed upon their copyrights.
“Crying Nut has been saying ‘CNBLUE should pay for stealing our copyright material, through their websites and other outlets. Though the case is pending at the court, they misled the public to believe their own allegation as a fact,” an official at the FNC entertainment said.
On Feb. 12, Crying Nut’s managing agency filed a 40-million won ($35,500) damage suit against the power pop band, claiming that CNBLUE used their song, “Pilsal Offside,” on a cable TV music show and recorded the program on a DVD in 2010 for sale in Japan without Crying Nut’s permission.
