Negotiation between Namyang Dairy Product, victimized chain ruptures

Listen

Negotiation between Namyang Dairy Product and a victimized chain of its business malpractice has ruptured.

Namyang Dairy Product Victimized Chain Association announced on June 19 that it repealed the planned negotiation with the company and will enter into a standoff by following an extensive litigation procedure.

The bilateral negotiation, which has lasted for about a month since May 21, seemed to reach an agreement at its 6th meeting on June 6, but the issue recently shaped into another conflicting mode.

The association said the company’s reluctant attitude in ridding its business malpractices was a reason for the rupture. It argued that the company didn’t accept their request of introducing measures to root out its business malpractices such as abolishing the compulsory sales goal policy.

Jeong Seung-hun, executive director of the association, said “There will be no further negotiations until the company suggests some persuasive measures to eliminate its business malpractices.”

As for Namyang Dairy Product, the association’s abrupt call for the repeal was rather confounding.

The company insisted that the association is “suddenly boggling a policy already settled as a result of our previous negotiations” and is “intentionally delaying time to increase the due compensation.”

The company also said that they are open to the chain’s re-negotiation offer no matter when, wishing to make the ends meet on this issue as soon as possible.
