The prosecution said Wednesday that it is investigating a woman who gained 120 million won ($105,000) by selling her own excrement and video clips of her excreting.
According to the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office, the seller, surnamed Lee, sold some excrement and underwear which she wore for between 30,000 won to 50,000 from August 2010 to April this year.
To certify that the excrement was her own, she filmed herself excreting.
The 41-year old sold excrement with video clips through parcel services to thousands of male customers who reached her through websites and adult communities based in and outside of Korea.
When police cracked down one of the sites, over 1,000 users were registered. The site is now defunct.
“We cannot reveal further details because she is currently under investigation, but spreading video clips of excreting constitutes distribution of pornographic materials, which is unlawful,” a prosecutor said.
The prosecution requested a local court to confiscate some of Lee’s property because it was illegally obtained.
After the court accepted the request, Lee appealed to a higher court on June 7.
