New Korea Times

Listen

The Korea Times, the oldest English daily in Korea, has adopted a wholly new design to enable our readers to better enjoy its content.

The design overhaul is only the first step in our plan to transform ourselves into a customer-oriented media entity in this era of great change in our industry. Simply put, we will do our best to serve our readers and this is the beginning of such a commitment.

The differences in the new edition are plain to see.

The upgraded layout, to debut today, has a larger spacing between columns and wider margins, helping the readers pick and focus what they choose to read in today’s sea of information.

The new nameplate adopts a thicker and vivid letter type to highlight the newspaper’s commitment to be a fast, reliable and fair harbinger and analyzer of the news.

Our emblem is “K” in the green box, representing The Korea Times on a background of green, our corporate color.

The emblem symbolizes the paper’s willingness to go an extra step.

It will be used in various applications from our website and mobile applications to other outlets.

The highlights of the new layout are a more effective use of space and adoption of stylish fonts such as Minion, Halvetica Neue Condensed, Neo Sans Std. and Didot among others.

To make the pages more spacious and comfortable for the eyes, the seven text columns are rearranged to six with greater margins on the sides and corners.

The newly-adopted main font for headlines and text is MinionPro, one of letter types most favored by designers. MinionPro is a font that represent both a classic and modern beauty.
