Seoul to hold third annual Expats' Festival on Sunday

Seoul City is hosting the third annual Expats Festival on Sunday, inviting foreign residents to enjoy a football match and other events.

Expats are invited to a match between FC Seoul and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors Football Club which will take place at Seoul World Cup Stadium at 2 p.m.

The event will provide expats an opportunity to mix with Seoul citizens and enjoy various activities.

Twenty-two multiracial children with backgrounds from countries such as China, Mongolia, Russia and France will accompany the players onto the field.

Forty students from countries, including Colombia, Mongolia, Russia and France have also been invited to the event. FC Seoul has four overseas players from Montenegro, Japan, Colombia and Brazil.

Outside of the stadium there will be performances by expats representing Ukraine and Argentina as well as a Korean samulnori (traditional percussion) performance.

There will also be a wide array of food from countries such as Mongolia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Russia as well as booths where expats will be able to get information about living in Seoul and trips and transportation in the capital.

The entrance fee for expats is 12,000 won which includes a hotdog.

The event will provide the opportunity for expats to interact with Seoul citizens. We plan to expand such programs for expats, said a city official.
