Provincial government officials have been reprimanded for everything from embezzlement to driving while intoxicated.
According to reports obtained by the Christian Broadcasting Corp. (CBS), the personnel management committee of Geonggi Province held a meeting on Oct. 16 and handed down punitive measures to 26 civil servants as requested by the provincial governor and city and county heads.
The province imposed eradication of post stature, dismissal and temporary suspension of duty, which are the severest forms of punishment for misdeeds, to seven of them and cuts in pay and reassignment to another 17. Another was given a warning and the charges against another could not be confirmed.
