There used to be a funny program in American television called “Candid Camera” where they did wild and bizarre things, but harmless.

Such secret filming has gone haywire with people taking all kinds of sex-oriented videos using unique gadgets.

The “tools,” which can easily be found in districts like Sewoon Mart along Chonggyecheon in downtown Seoul, range far and wide.

There is nothing with taking video images but most of them are usually focused on women, young and even old.

In what measures about 3.3 square meters, there are shops hanging signs like “hidden cameras” or “location tracking,” presenting cameras hidden in small items like pens and car key holders.

The main problem is that the government, such as the Korea Communications Commission, has not legal means to crack down on the sales of these devices.

These devices can also be easily obtained on the Internet.

“Some of our zoom lenses can capture images from 30 meters away,” a shop owner said, explaining that most of the high quality merchandises are from Japan “Customers range from teenagers to people in their 70s.”
