Mentally ill teenager posts video clip on his threat to kill mother

A teenager suffering from mental illness has been caught by police following a tip-off by an unidentified person, after the teenager had posted a video clip of threats ostensibly to kill his mother.

Police said Sunday that an 18-year-old Noh assaulted his 45-year-old mother, identified as Kim in her family name, at his mother’s third floor home of an officetel in Jeju City at 2:30 a.m, Saturday.

The son jumped off the officetel building to the ground sustaining fatal injuries in the process, as police officers broke through the door of the home following a 119 rescue call from a citizen, a police officer said.

Noh videotaped the scene of his threat to kill his mother stuck in the bathroom, while assaulting her with a deadly weapon, and posted it on the Internet. A citizen reported it to Yongin Seobu Police Station, Gyeonggi Province, after discovering the video whilst surfing the Internet.

The National Police Agency determined his location through the geopositioning system and relayed the information to the Jeju police.

Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the motivation behind the teenager’s horrible behavior.

The boy’s mother sustained bruises and other related injuries. Noh, according to Police had a history of mental problems.
