Seoul named three new ambassadors to Bangladesh, Thailand and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT) said in a statement Thursday.
Lee Yun-young, MOFAT’s director-general for free trade agreement, will serve as Korea’s top diplomat in Bangladesh.
The post has been vacant since Cho Tai-young was appointed spokesman for the foreign ministry in July.
Jeon Jae-man, first deputy director of the National Intelligence Service, will lead the Korean Embassy in Thailand
Baek Seong-taek, professor at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, will serve as ambassador to ASEAN.
