Is it believable mom beats son 200 strokes with golf club a night?

Can you take a beating of 200 strokes of a golf club a night without becoming very dead? This is a question surrounding a case involving the death of a woman at the hands of her son who killed her and left her for dead.

The 19-year-old boy is not the one who allegedly committed the assault but the mother who is dead. The boy is insisting that he was subjected to merciless beatings with a golf club for a period of seven years by his mother before he took matters into his own hands.

This is the point of contention at a trial in which the high school student is appealing a conviction and sentence of three and a half years, or three years at the minimum, in prison. Legal councils of the two sides are contesting the possibility of such brutality.

The student did well in school until March 13 last year when his 51-year-old mother discovered that he forged his report card. Fearing the consequences, he stabbed his mother while she was taking a nap and hid the dead body for eight months.

It was only in November that his father visited the house to settle a divorce and found the corpse. The student has consistently said that his actions were the result of the constant beatings.

However, the prosecution is continuing to argue that no one can survive that kind of beating and thus the student has to be making up the story.

An appeal court session is expected Sept. 6.
