Korea has extended its travel bans on Syria and Yemen by six months due to worsening security unrest in the Middle East nations, Seoul's foreign ministry said.
Under the extension, Korean nationals are prohibited from traveling to Syria and Yemen until Feb. 28 of next year, the ministry said in a statement.
A civil war is raging in Syria, while Yemen is grappling with simmering fighting between government forces and militants linked to Al-Qaeda, the statement said. (Yonhap)
