The leader and the eldest of the trio sister-group Hansband Kim Han-nah, 29, who is seeking a divorce, said she was obliged to register her marriage with her husband, 39, as he threatened to commit suicide unless she would marry him.
“(Kim) has been fixing wedding date with her husband after registering their marriage first,” her management agency SurfingMCN said Monday in a press release. “But there has been conflict between the two. She wants to cancel the marriage due to the trouble.”
Kim formally asked Lee to accept the divorce, the agency said, adding that she is suffering from the conflict.
The agency also said that Lee in seeking alimony.
The group leader first met Lee in early 2008 in an online game. The couple have lived together after registering their marriage in February, but have experienced severe problems since. They were scheduled to marry on June 30.
The trio-sister band made their debut in 1998 with the song, “I Love You, Sir.”
