Ahn Cheol-soo, software mogul and possible presidential candidate, was quoted as saying that he supports In Jae-keun, widow of a renowned late democracy activist-turned-politician Kim Geun-tae, who was chosen as the DUP candidate to run in Dobong A, Seoul.

“I wish a bright future for Dobong along with In’s strong and courageous character,” said Ahn. In posted the message on her Twitter Thursday.

In’s aides claim the comments were made by Ahn during her late husband’s funeral last December and were disclosed with Ahn’s permission.

Following the release, eyes are on Ahn as to whether there will be additional gestures backing candidates in the April 11 National Assembly elections.

The Seoul National University professor hinted at joining politics in a lecture held at his university on Tuesday.
