Lee names new foreign affairs secretary

President Lee Myung-bak on Friday named Korea's ambassador to Cambodia his new foreign affairs secretary, the presidential spokesman said.

Chang Ho-jin, a career diplomat who also served as a foreign ministry director general handling relations with the United States before taking the ambassadorship in 2010, will replace Lee Hyuk as the foreign affairs aide, presidential spokesman Park Jeong-ha said.

The outgoing secretary is expected to take up a senior post at the foreign ministry.

President Lee also named Kwon Ik-hwan, a senior prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, as a new civil affairs secretary. (Yonhap)
