Listen

An English pictorial of Korea's national parks has been published under the government's campaign to better promote the nation's natural beauty among foreign tourists, a government agency said Thursday.

The book, titled the "Top 100 Natural Wonders of Korean National Parks," has pictures and drawings of 100 scenes that represent the country's national parks, the Korea National Park Service (KNPS) said, noting they were selected in consideration of natural, cultural and historical value.

The selected sceneries include Mount Halla on the southern resort island of Jeju, Mount Jiri in South Gyeongsang Province, the World Cultural Heritage-listed Bulguk Temple and Seokguram Grotto in Gyeongju, some 370 kilometers southeast of Seoul, the KNPS said.

The photos in the book, which is not for sale, are also available on the agency's Web site (www.knps.or.kr) and via a mobile application for the Apple iPhone, it added. (Yonhap)
