A high school student stabbed his classmate to death in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, according to police Monday.
They said an 18-year-old student stabbed his classmate with a knife in a fit of anger during a scuffle in a bar in Okchejon-dong, Saturday.
The two drank heavily at the bar, which was owned by the assailant’s mother and shut down temporarily as she had been hospitalized.
The victim was transferred to a hospital but was pronounced dead after receiving treatment.
Police apprehended the suspect following a report by neighbors and are questioning him. He denies the murder charge, saying he remembers nothing.
Three years ago, seniors from the same school as the accused physically assaulted two juniors, one of whom was killed during the attack.
