Police requested a court to issue a warrant of arrest, Tuesday, for a 29-year-old man on suspicion of attempting to murder his ex-girlfriend.
According to Gangnam Police Station, the suspect, identified as Im, tortured the 29-year-old former girlfriend with a stun gun, demanding she get back together with him. Earlier, his sister bought him the stun gun for self-defense.
He fired at her repeatedly in his car in southeastern Seoul when the ex-girlfriend, identified as Kim, rejected his proposal, and then brought her to the Han River to murder her, a police officer said.
While the car was on the move, the suspect used his left hand to steer it, and kept the other hand on the stun gun to make sure that Kim couldn’t run away, the officer said.
Police said that he drove away from the crowded area to a remote fishing pond to have “a quiet conversation” with her. When Im was making a phone call to find an address, she escaped and ran to a nearby convenience store in her bare feet.
