New ’Three Bears’ to satirize power succession in NK

North Korea has set the goal to become a stronger military power by 2012, but criticism toward the regime has rapidly increased in the society, reported Radio Free Asia (RFA) on Monday.

A source said the North Korean people remade “Three Bears,” a popular Korean children song, to make third generation power succession of the country a parody. The State Security Department there has failed to find a suspect who first spread this song, the source added.

It is said that the North has propagated that Korean National Intelligence Service (NIS) in the South has spread the song in the malicious aim to slander North Korea as it failed to arrest the suspect.

Anti-government sentiment has heightened in the North Korean society in recent days. As a result, people are no longer to denounce those who do not abide by the country’s law. Officials have become more lenient than in the past, reported RFA.

“Although people were not able to express their dissatisfaction due to accusation, they have complained about their situation which officials have sometimes overlooked, because they have also been fed up with the country’s dictatorial regime,” said the source.
