Rev. Moons family embroiled in lawsuit

The third son of Moon Sun-myung, the founder and leader of the Unification Church, has filed a suit against his mother, accusing her of having wired 23.8 billion won ($22.3 million) from his company to her missionary association without his consent.

The Seoul Western District Court confirmed Monday that Washington Times Aviation Inc. (WTA), controlled by Rev. Moon’s third son, Hyun-jin, 42, filed the suit against the association run by his mother, Han Hak-ja, in January.

In a court statement, WTA demanded the association return the “illegally-gained” money to the aviation firm.

The court said WTA had earned an injunction banning the use of the disputed money in 2009 and then filed the suit. The first court hearing was held late last month.

문선명 아들, 어머니 상대 238억 소송

통일교 문선명 총재 아들이 어머니를 상대로 238억원의 소송을 제기했다.

서울서부지법은 5월 2일 문선명 총재의 3남인 문현진씨가 자신의 어머니 한학자씨를 상대로 238억7,500만원의 소송을 지난 1월 제기했다고 밝혔다.

이에 따르면 문현진씨가 운영하는 그룹 UCI의 계열사 WTA(워싱턴타임스항공)은 한학자씨가 대표로 있는 재단법인 세계평화통일가정연합선교회(이하 통일교 선교회) 측에 돈이 무단송금됐다며 부당이득금 반환소송을 제기했다.

WTA는 소장을 통해 WTA의 대표이사로 있던 주동문씨가 지난 2009년 10월 해임 이후 총 3차례에 걸쳐 238억7,500만원을 통일교 선교회 측에 무단 송금했다고 주장했다.

법원은 WTA 측이 지난 2009년 서부지법을 통해 이 금액에 대한 가압류 결정을 내 인용 결정을 받았고 이번에 추가로 민사소송을 제기했다고 설명했다.

문현진씨는 문선명 총재의 3남이며 한학자씨는 문현진씨와 4남 문국진씨, 7남 문형진씨의 친어머니다.
