President Lee Myung-bak will discuss his views on inter-Korean relations and details of his government's economic policy next week when he sits down with experts in front of a television camera, his office Cheong Wa Dae said Friday.
Titled "Dialogue with the President: the Republic of Korea in 2011," the 90-minute event will be broadcast live from the Cheong Wa Dae compound on Tuesday, it said.
The president plans to have "in-depth discussions" with a panel of two experts focusing mainly on diplomacy, security and the economy on the talk show, according to Cheong Wa Dae. The experts are Chung Kwan-yong, a professor at Hallym University, and Han Soo-jin, an anchor for local broadcaster SBS.
Cheong Wa Dae said the main themes will include inter-Korean ties, relations with the United States and China as well as inflation and other economic issues.
The president earlier described national security and the economy as the "two important pillars in state affairs" this year.
Lee's aides said he is expected to briefly mention his opinion on the controversial issue of whether the country should revise its decades-old Constitution. (Yonhap)
