The Seoul Metropolitan Government has decided to push the city brand to the foreign delegations and press visiting the capital during the G20 summit slated for Nov. 11 and 12.

Participants of the summit will be invited to various observation and hands-on opportunities to get to know Seoul.

The largest selling point will be the “Design Seoul” catchphrase and the city administration has arranged an “Experience Seoul” program for 863 reporters from 67 countries on design, information and technology.

For the business summit participants visiting Korea on Nov. 10 and 11, the administration has arranged both daytime and nighttime tours.

The authorities will also give out 3,000 won public transportation debit cards to foreigners to test Seoul facilities.

At thirty of the main hotels, Seoul tourism information centers will be set up to provide information about Mt. Nam, Cheonggye stream, Dongdaemun Design Plaza and other tourist spots.

The government will place 6,000 volunteers around major hotels, metro stations and other areas. They will act as guides too.

“The G20 summit will be a chance of a lifetime for Seoul to show off its global competitiveness,” Mayor Oh Se-hoon told reporters Thursday. He added that the city will do whatever it can to promote Seoul to the participants.
