World leaders participating in Canada-hosted G20 meeting are likely to agree to a statement, condemning North Korea over the fatal sinking of the Cheonan, a German news agency said on Saturday.
In a draft of the statement, obtained by German DPA news agency, the G8 leaders "strongly condemn" North Korea's attack on the Cheonan, underscoring that such a provocation is a destabilizing factor that undermines the international peace and stability, Yonhap news agency said.
The draft also calls for North Korea to "stop all hostile acts against its neighbors and abide by the international norms and obligations."
Citing diplomatic sources, DPA said it was too early to know whether the draft will be adopted by the leaders in its current form or will go through some modifications, toning down its condemnatory wordings, the article said.
