National Assembly Speaker Kim Hyong-o received an honorary medal from the Hellenic Parliament.
Korean National Assembly's Protocol office announced Friday that the speaker was awarded the ``Gold Medal of the Hellenic Parliament'' from his Greek counterpart Philippos Petsalnikos.
The medal is conferred to world's dignitaries for friendship and respect ― U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon also received it last year.
The speaker is on a trip to Tunisia, Morocco and Greece together with four other lawmakers. He will return to Korea on Monday.
