Pint-Sized Chihuahua Lulu

``Lulu,'' a micro-chihuahua measuring up at just 10 centimeters long, is turning its heads as one of the world's smallest dogs, according to the Daily Mail Online.

Lulu's owner Jean Tindall (76) from Bradford, West Yorkshire, didn't think there was anything remarkable about her. However, as the weeks passed, she noticed that Lulu was not growing like her siblings. She was not growing at all.

Lulu was named after the pint sized Scottish songstress.

Jean said, "I don't want to sell her because she will need so much extra care and attention being so small. She is so tiny she can fit in the palm of my hand. You can't believe she's from the same litter because the rest are twice as big as her."

She sleeps all day long on a hot water bottle that Jean gives to keep her warm. When Jean is ready for bed, she wakes up and runs rings around her.

Jean added, "Even though she's small she's got so much love to give and is a little bundle of joy."

Lulu hasn't developed a bark yet but Jean believes when she does, it would be as loud as a normal-sized dog.

Previously, Scooter, the Maltese pup, measuring just 8cm tall and just over 20cm from his nose to his tail, was going to try for the smallest dog official world record. However, he died due to stomach ulcers.

깜찍한 초소형 치와와 '룰루'

키가 불과 10cm 밖에 되지 않는 초소형 치와와 '룰루'가 세계에서 가장 작은 강아지 타이틀을 노리고 있다고 데일리 메일 온라인이 보도했다.

영국 웨스트요크셔 지역 브래드포드에 사는 룰루의 주인 진 틴덜 (76)은 룰루에게서 특별한 점이 있을 거라고는 생각지 못했다고 한다. 하지만 몇주가 지나면서 함께 태어난 형제들은 자라는데 룰루는 전혀 자라지 않았다.

룰루의 이름은 작은 스코틀랜드 여가수의 이름을 따서 지어졌다.

진은 "너무 작고 약해 특별한 보살핌이 필요하다. 룰루는 너무 작아서 손바닥에 올려놓으면 딱 맞을 만큼 앙증맞다. 형제들은 지금 룰루의 2배 몸집이라 한 배에서 같이 태어났다고 믿기 힘들 것"이라고 말했다.

이 강아지는 진이 준 따듯한 물병 위에서 하루 종일 자다 진이 잠자리에 들라치면 달려와 주변을 뱅글뱅글 맴돌며 재롱을 부린다.

진은 "룰루는 작지만 많은 사랑과 기쁨을 주고 있다''고 말했다.

룰루는 아직 다른 개처럼 짖지 못하지만 주인은 짖게 되면 보통 개와 비슷하게 크게 짖을 것으로 믿고 있다.

한편 세계에서 가장 작은 개 타이틀을 딸 것으로 보였던 키 8cm에 코에서 꼬리까지의 길이가 20cm인 마르티스 '스쿠터'는 지난해 위궤양으로 안타깝게 세상을 떠났다.
