Kyung Hee University Offers Cervamtes Classes
Kyung Hee University will offer classes on Spanish culture and language, dubbed "Cervantes Classes," in cooperation with the Cervantes Institute, the country's cultural organization, named after Miguel de Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote.
It was established in 1991 to promote Spanish studies, language and culture.
The institute issues Spanish-language certificate tests, called "Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language," aimed at gauging nonnative Spanish speakers' linguistic command, and holds various events covering Spanish books, movies and exhibitions. It has 54 branches in 20 countries around the world.
Choue In-won, president of Kyung Hee University, will sign an agreement Monday with representatives from the institute.
