A man in his 60s has been ordered to serve six months in prison for touching the buttocks of a teenage girl, the Seoul Southern District Court said Thursday.
The sex offender was prosecuted in August on charges of approaching a 14-year-old middle school student in a residential area in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and making physical contact.
Kim has denied the charges, stressing that he ``only asked the age of the girl, with no touching involved.'' He has previously been fined for sexual harassment.
``We have due evidence to believe that forced physical contact did take place. His sexual offenses have occurred repeatedly and he is not showing any remorse,'' the court said.
Koreans have recently called for harsher punishment for sexual predators after a child rapist was sentenced to just 12 years in prison after leaving his victim with serious physical and mental injuries.
