The 13th ASEAN+3 Directors-General Meeting will be held in Seoul today to discuss ways of boosting regional cooperation.
Choi Jong-moon, director-general of the South Asia and Pacific Affairs Bureau at the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, will co-chair the meeting to be attended by officials from 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Japan, China and South Korea.
Participants will assess cooperative projects scheduled to proceed until 2017 and talk about how to strengthen regional cooperation, according to the ministry.
They are also expected to discuss preparations for the ASEAN+3 Foreign Ministerial Meeting set for Phuket, Thailand, on July 22.
The directors-general meeting is held twice a year.
