A Web site has been opened to provide information on 57 cultural festivals nationwide in four foreign languages, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) said.

The site, provided in English, Japanese, simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese, offers festival information categorized by month, region and popularity ranking.

It is comprised of not only information on the events, nearby tourist attractions and folk foods, but also foreign visitors' own reviews and video clips.

The 57 festivities include the Boryeong Mud Festival, the Andong International Mask Dance Festival, the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, the Chuncheon International Mime Festival and the Yangyang Songi Mushroom Festival.

``The events show the unique culture of each region. We hope the site will help promote the fun of the festivals around the world and attract more foreign visitors,'' a KTO official said.

The site can be reached through english.visitkorea.or.kr/festival, japanese.visitkorea.or.kr/festival, chinese.visitkorea.or.kr/festival, or big5chinese.visitkorea.or.kr/festival.
