With the Chinese-hosted multilateral talks aimed at denuclearizing North Korea remaining stalled, a Chinese delegation led by a senior diplomat arrived in Pyongyang Friday.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry delegation, led by Assistant Foreign Minister Hu Zhengyue, arrived in North Korea's capital, Kyodo News reported Saturday citing the Korean Central News Agency.
The North Korea's official media did not mention the purpose of the visit, nor which North Korean officials the delegation will meet.
The last round of the six-party nuclear talks, held in December, failed to make progress as the countries were poles apart over ways to verify nuclear information, including the sampling at the nuclear site.
The talks involve the two Koreas, the United States, China, Japan and Russia.
