Waleed Siam, ambassador of Palestine's Permanent General Mission in Japan, met with foreign ministry officials in Seoul Friday and thanked Korea for providing the Palestinians with an aid package of $300,000, a ministry spokesman said.

The aid will be provided through the International Committee of the Red Cross due to difficulty in access and assessment, according to the ministry.

Explaining the Palestinian position on the conflict, Siam stressed the need for entry of humanitarian aides into Palestine and a truce with Israel, the spokesman said.

Other countries such as Norway, Germany and Spain are also joining the relief activities for Palestinians via the international organization, according to reports.
