A 38-year-old woman who was allegedly abused by her husband will stand trial for strangling her mother-in-law to death, police said.
Authorities believe she was murdered after a physical altercation. The suspect denied the allegations, saying, ``We argued but I didn't kill her.'' She will stand trial from Jan. 19 to 20 under the new pilot jury system program. Police have yet to come up with evidence or witnesses.
Neighbors told the police they heard yelling and an argument between the woman and her mother-in-law around the time of the murder. Her husband also said the two had not been getting along well.
The woman's lawyer said, ``On the day of the murder, she left her home after the argument with her mother-in-law at noon. Her husband returned home immediately thereafter.''
Police suspect she killed her in anger after being physically abused by her husband.
