A 24 year-old female with uneven teeth killed herself due to false orthodontics information she obtained online.
According to Gwangju Bukbu Police Station, her father, a school guard, found her body hanging in a restroom at the elementary school where he worked, Sunday.
Police quoted the father as saying she had been unhappy about her teeth and had undergone orthodontic care for 11 months after graduating from university.
She assessed a Web portal site that stated, ``People with weak gums are unable to have their irregular teeth straightened and must wear braces throughout their lives,'' which increased her pessimism. Her family also stated she often said, she'd rather die than live with her uneven teeth.
Her father worried about her condition and took her to his workplace to keep an eye on her during night duty. However, she killed herself when he was doing his rounds.
``She had four canine teeth removed to correct her irregular tooth alignment and was told her condition would be better in a year. However, erroneous information online may have led to this awful situation,'' a police officer said.
